Internship

General Information

The internship is a compulsory elective module in the following programs:

  • CAME
  • NPE
  • Textile
  • RoboSys

According to these programs’ curricula, the internship is planned in the third semester. You do not need to register for your internship beforehand.

Internship Guidlines

Your Examination Regulations provide a set of rules on your compulsory internship in the appendice. Go to your program’s page here on this website to find the correct document.

Step 1: Look for suitable internship positions

You are free to look for a suitable internship position on your own. Please be sure that the internship is related to your field of studies. As a general rule, internships at university institutes (including affiliated institutes) and at a student’s own or their parents’ company cannot be recognized.

To find a suitable internship position, you can use any database or career platform. Did you know that we have our very own career platform, where our partners regularly post internship positions? Find out more on our Career Service website

Step 2: Do your internship

The rules and conditions of your internship are set by the internship contract you sign with the internship company. Please consider the official duration of your internship as indicated by your examination regulations.

Some companies will ask you for a confirmation, stating that your internship is compulsory in your study program. You can request such a document from us. Please fill in this request form. You will receive your Internship Confirmation within a few working days by email.

Step 3: Write your internship report and receive your internship certificate

You need to hand in both of the following documents within two months after completing your internship in order to have your internship credited.

Internship Report

We recommend you to write your internship report while you are doing your internship and not wait for too long afterwards. You can find the details on the formal report requirements in the “Internship Guidelines” at the end of your program specific examination regulations. View your program page on this website to view your examination regulations.

Those still enrolled in M.Sc. CAME (PO2012) could use this guideline as orientation, yet for proper information contact the Internship Office.

Internship Certificate

After completing your internship you will receive a working/internship certificate from your internship company stating the duration of your internship as well as your tasks and performance.

Step 4: Have your internship accredited to your transcript
